Creating a Path for Healing

Mission

Time Of Butterflies represents the power of making changes together worldwide by healing and supporting each other.

What we do

We bring awareness to communities in Boston, MA in regard to domestic violence, sexual abuse/assault, emotional abuse and mental health as a whole.

We curate workshops that focus on educating, and providing resources.

We provide support and knowledge to individuals, and families in order to heal.

Survivors of abuse are often left in the dark, and it is difficult for them to share their stories, and heal in order to reach their full potential to be self-sufficient. Our services focus on accomplishing one main goal; that these individuals from these communities can strengthen their adaptive and life skills, which has been affected by their trauma.

We are supporting survivors in creating a path for healing.

Our services will focus on:

Self-Esteem

After experiencing abuse an individual's self-esteem is truly impacted in a detrimental way. We are empowering and uplifting those individuals through our services by using the expressive arts, individual and group therapy, which will allow these individuals to reconnect and love themselves.

Skill Building

With access to the right resources, people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain confidence through skill building. Our services focuses on life skills such as, self-care, opening a bank account, applying for housing, and learning about nutrition, and much more.

Self-Regulation

It's important to acknowledge, process and manage emotions in order to be able to self-regulate. Individuals who have experienced abuse often find themselves in fight-or-flight mode, and self-regulation can be difficult. We are helping these individuals understand emotions, by educating them on how their trauma affects their autonomic nervous system, while integrating the expressive arts.

Safety

Our team is working each and every day to make a positive impact by teaching individuals strategies on how to maintain their safety. Our workshops focus on safe commute, safety in the workplace and how to safely transition out of an abusive relationship.

Black is Beautiful

Founders, Giselle Bonilla and Kat Bonilla both identify as Afro-Latina Dominican women. They aspire to make a positive change in others lives who have experienced abuse, especially women of color. This is a passion that they deeply share, and forever will be ignited in them.
