Who are we?
Time Of Butterflies is new non-profit organization that wants to bring awareness to communities in regards to the topics of domestic violence and sexual abuse, as well as to include trauma informed care. We will do this by engaging with communities in workshops that will be focused on educating, and providing resources for victims and/or survivors, as well as friends and families of those individuals.
What do we believe?
Survivors, and victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse are often left in the dark. Most survivors and victims lack the support and knowledge that they need in order to reach self sufficiency. Family and friends lack the knowledge of how to help those who are survivors or victims. Time of Butterflies wants to provide that support and knowledge, through our workshops within communities. We believe that these workshops will help a lot of individuals be able to be more self sufficient in their day to day life.
Our Founders
Time of Butterflies founders, Giselle Bonilla and Kat Bonilla are both Latina women whose family migrated from the Dominican Republic in 1992. They grew up in Boston, MA, and each sister has their own unique story. Giselle Bonilla is currently attending Lesley University, she is working towards her masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy. Kat Bonilla is a Special Educator, Case Manager, Early Childhood Interventionist in Washington, DC. These two causes became essential in their lives in order to make a positive change in other women lives, their families, and in communities. This is a passion that they both share so deeply, and forever will be ignited in them.
